I have always been a huge fan of shellfish. I love oysters, mussels, shrimp, crabs, lobster, you name it. It probably has something to do with growing up in Maryland; steamed crabs are a way of life there and I’ve been eating them since I was a child. I also love sushi. Love it. I could eat sushi every single day without growing tired of it (my wallet would grow tired of it first). Filleted fish, on the other hand, has never done much of anything for me. I have just never cared for it, unless maybe it’s deep fried fish and chips or breaded with some kind of nut mixture.
Recently I’ve been trying to open myself up to new recipes that celebrate all types of seafood, even the fillets. I think that part of my issue up until now has been creativity. I’ve recently discovered many unique ways to prepare fish that I had never previously considered. Believe it or not, I’m actually starting to have a change of heart!
