BOYERTOWN — Although known for its fruit orchards, Frecon Farms has a retail store where “buy local” is their model.
Josh Smith, the store’s general manager, said all the fruit they sell comes from the 140 acres of land behind the shop.
Frecon Farms has been growing fruit since the 1940s and the retail store was established in 1970, Smith said.
He said local growers provide all the non-fruit items they sell. The milk comes from Longacre’s Modern Dairy in Barto, while the different cheeses are provided by September Farms in Honey Brook, Smith said.
